Navigate to Settings > Advanced Features
In this article we will describe what all of the options inside of Settings > Advanced Features mean and how to use them.
These are all global settings, it will update functionality and naming convention on all Projects.
Account
Suppress Error Display
Hides the red error messages on the account.
Enable this feature with caution: if the app starts behaving in strange ways, the error messages are really helpful when submitting support tickets. It may take more time/not be possible to track down a bug without these messages if we cannot reproduce the behavior on our end.
Enable Organizations
If you enable organizations, you will be able to use the organization feature which will allow you to create a contact list of people - users and collaborators - related to that account. You will also be able to add multiple projects to organizations.
This is a great option if you have customers associated with multiple projects.
Hide email addresses from Collaborators and Users without Administrator privileges.
If you would like to hide all email address from the collaborator list from your collaborators, enable this option. Your collaborators will be able to see names and @mention names of your collaborators, but not their full email address.
Project Features
Enable Project Timeline
Enables the Timeline tab inside each Project. This allows a Gantt chart view of your project - provided you have set up start dates and/or due dates on the tasks in your plan
Enable Project Progress Reports
Enables the Progress Reports tab inside each Project. Use this area to write reports/summaries of what is happening in your Project. This is a good way to summarize any weekly/monthly meetings and keep up to date about the status of your Projects.
Don't expand first Progress Report
With this option enabled, all progress reports will be collapsed by default, otherwise, the very first progress report will be fully expanded to show the entire report.
Content page links do not default to opening links in a new tab.
If you enable this option, any links you add to your content pages in your projects or global pages will open links in the same tab on your browser. If this option is disabled, links will open in new tabs on your browser.
Attempt to auto-insert links in Summary and Content Pages (Legacy: Use editor link feature going forward)
If you need to add URLs via Dynamic Content/Custom Fields, if you have added all of the URLs just by using the curly brackets, and not actually using the WYSIWYG add link feature, enable this option.
Going forward make sure to use the add link and inputting the Custom Field in brackets into the URL input
Project Files
In this section you can enable and disable options pertaining to the files tab in your projects
Hide File Tab on project page for everyone
Removes the Files page from the navigation bar on every project on the account for everyone on the account.
Hide Files Tab from Collaborators only
Removes the Files page from the navigation bar on every project on the account for collaborators only. Does not affect licensed users.
Disable Collaborator File Uploads
With this setting enabled, collaborators won't be able to add any attachments
Note: with this feature enabled, if you set Call to action for the assignee in tasks as Attach a File, only in this instance will the collaborators be able to attach a file from the My Tasks page
Show File Tab to Collaborators without Plan access
If you do not want your collaborators to view the plan, but you still want them to have access to fines that you are uploading, enable this option. They will have always access to the Files tab no matter your other settings.
Files tab includes additional tabular view
Enabling this option will show a grid with all files that have been added to the project.
Files tab excludes standard view
Hides the entire files tab content. If you enable this feature and the Additional tabular view feature, you will only see the tabular view. If you do not enable tabular view, the page will be blank for everyone - users and collaborators.
Note: enabling this feature will completely hide all the content from the Files tab for your invited collaborators.
Disable all file uploads
No one on your account will be able to add any files including your users. All file uploads will be disabled.
Emails and Notifications
Email from name always from system from name
This helps prevent some misconfigured spam filters primarily on self hosted exchange servers. If you are having issues with phishing email filters, try enabling this feature and see if it fixes it.
Copy all Collaborators automatically when replying via email
This will be the equivalent of adding @all to all of your discussions when replying through your email client.
Do Not send task assignment notifications
Stops emails going out to collaborators whenever they are assigned a task. Depending on their other notification settings, this may prevent them from ever knowing they have been assigned tasks.
Note: If you think your collaborators are not receiving task notification messages, and you think they should, please check to make sure this option is not enabled.
Include Task form information in assignment reminder emails
If there are any forms attached to the tasks that people are receiving emails about, they will see the entire form.
Collaborator Permissions
Allow external collaborators to see project status
If your collaborators are assigned to more than one project, they will be able to see the status of the project from their version of a project list.
Hide Plan Tab by default when sharing with a collaborator
Leaves the option "Enable access to the Plan Tab" unchecked by default when you invite collaborators to your projects
Hide Discussion tab from Collaborators
Collaborators will no longer see the discussion tab. They will only be able to see discussions on tasks they are assigned. As soon as that task is completed, they will no longer have access to the discussion. It is recommended that you use this feature as well as limiting their access to the Plan tab, otherwise they will be able to see the discussions on any task they click on in the Plan area.
Show general discussion to Collaborators without Plan access
Allow your collaborators to see the general project-wide discussion in the discussion tab even if you do not give them access to the plan.
Hide Tasks from Collaborators when Waiting on Dependencies
Your Collaborators will not see any tasks inside Plan or My tasks page that are set to status: Wait on Dependencies. Licensed account users will still see these tasks on the Plan tab, they just won't show up in their My Tasks page
For collaborators, without the feature enabled:
For collaborators, with the feature enabled: (No Step 1 task is showing up)
Hide notification settings menu option from Collaborators
If you do not want your collaborators to set their own notification options.
Hide last viewed / invitation status on plan page from Collaborators
This will remove the icons to the right hand side in the collaborator panel for your customers. They will not be able to see any info when people last logged in or viewed the plan.
Hide activity feed timestamps from Collaborators
Removes time stamps from the activity feed
Hide activity feed from Collaborators
Completely removes the entire activity feed from your collaborators - they will not see that menu option
Tasks
Tasks do not appear in My Tasks before their Start Date
Tasks will not show up in the My Tasks tab even when they are assigned to users and collaborators before the Start Date that is set passes.
Note: if you share plan access with your collaborators, they will still be able to see tasks assigned to them in the Plan tab, even though they will not see any tasks in their My Tasks tab. If you would like them to not see these tasks in the Plan tab, please use the Wait on Dependencies feature or do not share the plan tab with them.
