You can set the task statuses from a few different areas:
- From any project on the plan tab, click the status icon to the left of any task name
- From any task detail modal, click on the dropdown under Task Status
- From the task list, same as in the plan tab, click on the status icon to the left of the task name

Using statuses to help organize your plan by allowing you to see at a quick glance the status of all of your tasks.

Not started
- Set this status on any task that is currently not in progress
- This is the default status of a newly created task
- Set this status on any task that is currently not in progress

Information Only
- Use this status to add special tasks in your plan that you would like to use as information sources
- A common way to use them is to place some tasks into an information group or at the top of the plan as ungrouped for their customers to refer to as a resource section.

In progress
- indicates that the task is currently being worked on
- indicates that the task is currently being worked on

Wait on Dependencies (quick overview)
- Use this status to help automate your plan
- Any collaborator with plan access will not see any tasks inside of that plan that has this status
- collaborators that are assigned tasks with this status will not receive notifications until the status is changed

Blocked
- Any tasks with a blocked status do not show up in the My Tasks page for the assignee
- Visual queue on the Plan page for the project manager that some tasks have been reassigned to the project manager
- This status has nothing to do with dependencies (blockers/blocked by), it is a visual queue
- If a collaborator that is assigned a task presses the I cannot complete This button, the task will automatically be set to the blocked status and assigned to the project manager. An email will also be sent as a discussion saying that the collaborator indicated they cannot complete the task.
- Any tasks with a blocked status do not show up in the My Tasks page for the assignee

Complete
- You can set up ways to clean up your plan by using the completed state
- If you navigate to the plan settings, you can select Hide completed groups and/or Hide completed tasks
- Hide completed tasks will visually remove all tasks with the status of complete from the plan
- Hide completed groups will visually remove all groups that have all tasks with complete status inside
- you will see a little eye appear near the top of your task list that will let you know if one both of these checkboxes are enabled.
