What is the difference between a Content Page and a Global Page?
A Content Page is added on an individual basis to any Project or Template. These pages are stand-alone and cannot be used anywhere else in the app. For example, if you would like to add any Content Page from one Project to another Project or Template, you will need to create a new blank content page and copy/paste the content from one to the other.
A Global Page is created and maintained inside of Settings > Content Pages. These pages can be added to any Project on a case-by-case basis or all Projects going forward. These pages are saved as a dropdown option that you can select when Adding Content Pages to a project or Template.
Using Content Pages
When to use Content PagesIf you have unique information that you need to relay to each of your customers. Examples:
|
- Navigate to a Project or Template
-
Click on + Add Content Page
-
Enter the name of your page (this will also act as the Navigation link name) and press the Add button
-
Make your edits and press Save Changes
NoteIf you create a template with only a custom content page, you can add this page on a case-by-case basis to any project and make small modifications to it as needed. Using Global Pages
When to use Global PagesIf you have a set of information that you want to use for all or a few projects, and that info does not need to be changed or altered in any way. You cannot change information inside of these pages for individual Projects, the info is either changed for everyone or not changed at all. Examples:
|
- Navigate to Settings > Content Pages
-
Add the name of the page - this name will show up as the Link in the Navigation Bar on your Projects where you add this page
- You can change this name any time when you edit your page
-
When you make all of your edits and your page looks how you like, click on the Save Changes button
- Navigate to any Project or Template
-
Click on + Add Content Page
-
From the dropdown where it says Select Account-wide Page, select your global page you just created
-
Optional: to rearrange the order in which this global page appears in your Navigation, click on Reorder Project Pages and shift around the pages to set your preferred order
-
|
If you would like this page to automatically be added to any new project that is created, enable the Global Options when editing your page When added to project, make topmost pageUse this setting if you want this page to be at the very top of your Project Navigation bar. Note: when collaborators navigate the their projects, they will automatically be shown the topmost page first. If you enable this option, you can bypass it for your users and send them directly to the Plan. When you re-order your project tabs, you can check the box that says "Users go directly to Plan tab"
Automatically add to all new pagesUse this setting to add this global page to all newly created projects going forward from the time that this setting is enabled. Note: this will not apply this page to any existing project automatically, only going forward. |
What if I have a page that I want to use in multiple projects, but the information changes slightly from project to project?
The best way to achieve this is to use Templates with Content Pages.
| Reminder: You can load in as many Templates as you would like to any Project, so choose the method below that will work best for your workflow |
-
You can create a Template or multiple Templates with nothing in it except a Content Page
Use this method for more flexibility. You will be able to pick and choose when to add your custom page. If you have projects where depending on the client, they require different info or welcome pages, or even some that don't require any custom pages, this method is perfect. - Create a new template by navigating to Templates and press the + Add Template button
- Click on the + Add Content Page button on the left actions bar
- Name your page
- add all of the content you like and save the page
- Don't do anything else to this template - you will only use this template as a way to import just this custom content page to any project of your choosing
-
You can create add a custom Content page to any existing Template that you want to use going forward
Use this method if over 90% of the time your projects will require a certain custom page with minimal changes to the content. For the 10% or less projects, you can simply delete the custom page generated from the template. - Create a new Template or navigate to an existing Template
- Click on the + Add Content Page button on the left actions bar
- Name your page
- add all of the content you like and save the page
- With this method, you will also build out a Plan in your template, or use a template with an existing Plan. Going forward, any time you create a new Project from this Template, it will also include this new custom content page you created
